vintage tea cosy patterns - delivered digitally in PDF format

Once - almost every home had a tea cosy - most likely more than one. There would have been an everyday one in the kitchen and a fancy one for when guests dropped by.
Hand knit tea cosies were made with love and given as gifts at Christmas or for a housewarming.
They could be worked in colours to match your china set or for seasonal occasions

I first started to save my collection of patterns as digital files to preserve and protect these fragile pages as well as to repair age and storage damage. Patterns tend to live in knitting baskets, get folded to keep them out of the way or find their way to dusty attics or damp basements when they go out of fashion.

The patterns that I offer here started out in the public domain.
After the restoration work that I have done, the files and images qualify as altered art under my copyright.
I do not mind if you print off an extra copy for a friend or even for a knit-along group or a charity knitting project. All I ask is that you do not resell the files and perhaps if someone asks where you got that wonderful pattern, it would be a kindness to refer them on to me
